For this project each student is given a craftsman to work with. I chose pottery as a craftsmanship. We are given the location (Columbia road) and must work on redesigning a retail/living space for our specified client. The building must consist of both a working area where the craftsman takes on his work, and a retail space which is open to the public; as well as a living area in which the craftsman eats, sleeps, washes up, and rest. The challenge is to design a spacial configuration that brings both public and private spaces within three different purposes and creating a conceptual design based on the craftsmanship of the client, in this case Pottery.
